Why Work With Me
I could list my credentials and I will below, but what really matters is that I get it. I’ve been working with women navigating eating disorders, emotional eating, and body image healing since 2013, and I understand how layered the relationship between food, body, and self-worth can be.

My approach blends science, compassion, and practical strategy, because healing requires both insight and action. I’m also a bit of a research junkie, so you can expect plenty of my signature “nerd nuggets” in session, which are evidence-based tools that help you not just understand change, but sustain it.

If you’re looking for someone who combines real expertise with real humanity, you’re in the right place.

As promised, my credentials:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Benedictine University
  • Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addictions Counseling (and yes- food addiction, too!)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
  • Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor
  • National Academy of Sports Medicine: Certified Personal Trainer & Metabolic Makeover Coach

In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their Federal rights and protections against potential “surprise billing.”

This Act requires that we notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if a client is uninsured, or if a client elects not to use their insurance.

Additionally, we are required to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services. It is difficult to determine the true length of treatment for mental health care and each client has a right to decide how long they would like to participate in psychotherapy services. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine how many sessions you may need.

NewLeaf Counseling Center, PLLC is a virtual private practice that exclusively offers telehealth.

Telehealth is not appropriate for all clients. During the initial consultation, your provider will be screening your eligibility for services in addition to you screening the provider to make sure they are a good fit for you.

You will need either a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop with a webcam. You will also need a reliable source of signal (cellular or wifi). You will need a private space to conduct the session. I do not conduct sessions where others are present in order to uphold confidentiality standards.

Fill out the contact form (at the bottom of this page) or call 630-470-7082 and leave a detailed voicemail and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
